Bulawayo South AIDS Trust (BSAT) implements community based projects aimed at improving the health, dignity , and livelihoods of people living with HIV in Bulawayo South and surrounding communities. Our programs respond directly to the social, economic and health challenges faced by our members.
We conduct community sensitisation and mobilisation activities to promote the uptake of HIV related health services. This includes HIV education, treatment literacy and prevention messaging. Our work also focuses on reducing stigma and discrimination by engaging community leaders, faith leaders and service providers.
BSAT promotes positive living among people living with HIV through health education, psychosocial support and self care training. We empower members with knowledge and skills to manage their health, adhere to treatment and live positively while preventing onward transmission..
To strengthen economic independence. We support income generating projects and initiatives for people living with HIV in their diversity. These projects help members build sustainable livelihoods, reduce poverty and improve household stabilit, recognising the strong link between economic security and good health outcomes.

BSAT facilitates nutrition support initiatives and support groups that promote healthy living. These groups provide peer support, shared learning and encouragement and help members improve treatment adherence and overall well being.
We capacitate members through training on health living self care and personal development. These activities are designed to build confidence, resilience and the ability to make informed decisions about health and livelihoods.
We advocate for the rights and interests of people living with HIV by engaging with local and national authorities. We lobby for laws, policies, and practices that address legal and social challenges faced by people living with HIV and ensure their concerns are adequately represented.

We work in partnership with other community based organisations, government institutions and civil society networks with similar objectives. Through collaboration, we strengthen community systems and contribute to more effective and inclusive HIV response.
